There are many different styles when it comes to bible art journaling. Mine is fairly simple; I prefer to use coloring mediums that don’t bleed through the page, so I don’t have to do the additional step of prepping the page. I also like to stay in the margin, or color lightly over the scripture. I’ve found that tracing templates are a great way to go, as they take advantage of the thinness of the bible page.
I place a tracing template under the bible page and trace the words and images with a micron pen. I then color with colored pencils, which I love as they don’t bleed through, and you can either color quickly and simply, or go to more detail with shading. Also, I use a very thin lightbox under my page, which allows me to trace very easily. The tracing templates can be found for sale on Etsy, or for free on Pinterest. I’ve attached a free tracing template I designed under my process video below! Enjoy!
