Creative Memories new holiday paper has a very soft, pretty palette! This layout is a way to showcase a number of patterned papers without being too busy by using pennants. I love patterned paper but don’t like my layouts too busy!
Using the colorful snowflake paper for the background, I cut strips from various other patterned paper from 3 – 4 inches long and 2 – 2 1/2 inches wide. I varied the lengths and cut pennants at the bottom of the strips. There are a couple different ways to cut the pennant bottom, but my favorite technique is to cut a slit up the middle, and then cutting from the bottom corner to the top of the slit. See the very short video below.
I then adhered the pennants about a half inch from the top of the page. I tended to put the longer pennants on the ends, with the shorter ones in the middle. I cut the strip that says Happy Holidays from the paper with the borders and attached it across the top of the pennants.
I cut three mats just slightly larger than 3 1/2 x 5 from white cardstock. From the Sugarplum Die Cut Pack, I picked out the tree and reindeer and adhered to the bottom left of the page.
